We know that so many of our patients truly wish to improve the appearance of their smile by straightening their teeth but dread the idea of traditional metal braces. While traditional braces are highly effective for orthodontics, they may not fit into your lifestyle. If you are in the public eye or spend a lot of time talking, you might feel self-conscious about traditional braces. That is why Dr. Beth Kreider decided to offer Invisalign in our Denver, CO dental office.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a truly innovative way to improve the appearance and function of your teeth without traditional silver or ceramic brackets. Invisalign utilizes clear custom plastic aligners to gradually and gently move your teeth. Because the aligners are perfectly clear, no one will notice you are wearing Invisalign, and because you do not have bulky brackets and wires, there is no need to worry about breaking them and having a dental emergency at an inconvenient time.
How Does Invisalign Work?
When you decide Invisalign is right for you, we will ask you to come to our office so that we can take impressions of your teeth. These impressions will help us to design a custom treatment plan for you. Along with your impressions, we will send x-rays and digital images to our lab to create your custom clear aligners.
Once you receive your aligners, you should wear them at least 22 hours a day. Invisalign aligners are completely smooth and will not cause the pain and irritation commonly experienced in traditional orthodontics.
You should change out your aligners approximately every two weeks until your treatment is complete. As your teeth move, you can see your gradual progress. What you will not see are food particles caught in your brackets because Invisalign makes eating your meals and cleaning your teeth a breeze.
You will need regular follow up appointments in our office throughout your treatment. Dr. Beth Kreider will make a recommendation for the frequency of your visits. Her close observation of your treatment is essential to ensure a successful outcome.
Does Invisalign Work for Every Orthodontic Patient?
Some orthodontic cases require traditional braces. If that is the case, Dr. Kreider will enlist one of our trusted orthodontists to help you achieve the best outcome. We will still closely monitor your treatment and help you to maintain outstanding oral hygiene throughout your treatment.
